If the jig you need does not exist yet, I will design it for you. Tell me what you are engraving and which machine you run, and you get a fixed quote before any work starts.

What it costs
There is no price list, because no two jobs are the same. Here is how it actually works.
Every jig is quoted individually. Rather than guess at a price list that would be wrong half the time, I look at your specific job and give you one fixed price for it. That price is agreed in writing before any work starts and it does not move unless you change what you have asked for. Enquiring is free and there is no obligation, so the only way to find out what yours costs is to ask.
What affects the price
All quotes include VAT where it applies. If you have a budget in mind, say so in the form. It is better to know upfront whether the job fits it than to spend a week finding out it does not.
What I need from you
Have this ready before you fill the form in and you will usually have a quote back within 2 working days.
- Which machine you run, including the exact model. F1 and F1 Ultra need different jigs.
- What you need to hold, and how many of them at a time.
- A link to the blank you are buying, if you have one. Any supplier site is fine.
- Photos of the item, ideally next to a ruler or tape measure.
- Key measurements: length, width, height, and the diameter if it is round.
- Whether the item has to sit in a particular orientation to engrave correctly.
- Whether you want the file, a printed jig, or both.
- Whether it is for personal use or for a business.
- Any deadline you are working to.
The link matters most
If you can send a link to the blank you are buying, do. It lets me see the exact item, the listed dimensions and the variants, which saves more time than anything else you can send. A clear photo with a ruler next to it is the next best thing. And if you can post the item to me, say so in the form. Working from the real thing gives the tightest fit, and it usually gets the price down.

The price is fixed before work starts
You approve a written spec and a price. That price does not move unless you change what you have asked for.
Custom work cannot be returned for a change of mind
Because it is made to your specification, the standard 14 day cancellation right does not apply. If it is faulty or does not match the agreed spec, it gets fixed or refunded.
Two rounds of revisions are included
Adjustments to get the fit right are part of the job. Changing what the jig is meant to do is a new quote.
Your measurements are what it is built to
If the numbers you give turn out to be wrong, the rework is chargeable. This is why photos with a ruler are worth the two minutes.
You can use it commercially, you cannot resell the file
L3D keeps the design rights. You get a licence to use the jig and the file in your own work, including for products you sell. Sharing or reselling the file itself is not allowed.
A general version may join the shop later
If your jig would help other people, a version of it may be added to the range. If you need it kept exclusive to you, say so and it will be quoted for.

How much does a custom jig cost?
Every one is quoted individually, because the work involved varies enormously between jobs. A simple pocket for a flat round blank and a twenty up tray for something tapered are not the same task, and pretending they cost the same would mean overcharging half of you. Send the enquiry and you get one fixed price for your actual job, free and with no obligation. If you have a budget, say so and you will get a straight answer on whether it fits.
How long does a custom jig take?
Most quotes come back within 2 working days. Once the quote is paid, a straightforward jig is usually designed and ready within 5 working days, and a more involved one within 10. If you have a hard deadline, say so in the form and you will get a straight answer on whether it is achievable.
Which machines can you design for?
Anything in the xTool F1, F1 Ultra, F2 Ultra and M2 families, plus the O1 Omni UV printer. If you run something else, ask anyway. As long as you can give me the bed size and the working area, it is usually doable.
Can I sell the items I engrave using the jig?
Yes. The licence covers commercial use of the jig, so anything you produce with it is yours to sell. The only restriction is on the design file itself, which cannot be shared or resold.
Will my design end up being sold to everyone else?
Possibly, and it is fairer to say so upfront than to spring it on you. If a design has wider use, a general version of it may be added to the shop. It will not carry your branding or anything specific to your business. If you want it kept exclusive to you, ask when you enquire and it will be quoted for separately.
What if it does not fit when it arrives?
If it does not match the agreed spec, that is on me and it gets put right at no cost. If the measurements you supplied were not accurate, a revised version is chargeable. Every jig is test printed here before it is sent, which catches most of it.
Can I send you the item to measure?
Yes, and it usually gives the best result. Mention it in the enquiry form and you will get a posting address with the quote. Items are returned with your order unless you say otherwise.
Do you take on one-off jobs, or only bulk?
One-offs are welcome. A lot of custom work is a single jig for a single recurring job. There is no minimum order.
I want a logo or a branded item jig. Is that a problem?
Not usually, but you need to hold the rights to whatever you are asking for. By ordering you are confirming you have permission to use any logo, brand or design you send over. See the custom design terms for the detail.
How do I actually pay?
Once you approve the quote you get an invoice link by email. It goes through the normal shop checkout, so all the usual card protections and your order confirmation apply. There is nothing to pay before you have agreed the price.
