F2 Ultra + precious metals: common questions

Can the fiber module really engrave gold and silver?

Yes. Precious metals engrave beautifully with the fiber module, and these recipes include tested deep engrave and polish passes so jewellery work comes out clean.

Why do these recipes use crosshatch so often?

Crosshatching runs the fill lines in two directions, which evens out the finish on reflective metals and gives a deeper, more uniform result.

Why do my results look different to yours?

Materials vary between batches and suppliers, machines drift, and focus matters. Treat every number here as a proven starting point, run a small test first, then adjust in small steps.
